Existing Canadian tariffs on U.S. vehicles also remain in place, raising sourcing, pricing, and production-allocation risk across the North American manufacturing base. OEMs and sourcing teams should reassess cross-border content, tooling and component traceability, alternate-source readiness, and the financial health of critical suppliers. At the same time, new U.S. capacity in electronics, semiconductors, precision components, defense systems, and medical devices is creating opportunities for qualified suppliers that can localize, validate, and launch programs reliably.
