Tesla unveils next-generation Roadster featuring SpaceX-derived propulsion technology

Tesla unveiled its long-awaited second-generation Roadster on October 15 at SpaceX's McGregor, Texas, testing facility. The demonstration featured an electric sports car prototype equipped with high-pressure cold-gas thrusters and an aerodynamic suction system, allowing it to accelerate from 0–60 mph in less than one second, according to Tesla, and perform a brief airborne maneuver.

The Roadster incorporates technologies developed through collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX. Production is targeted for 2028, and the rocket-assisted configuration is not currently approved for public-road use. The unveiling marks a significant new vehicle and technology announcement, although commercial production remains several years away.
